Skyrim 1.4 Beta Patch

Bethesda has released a Beta 1.4 Patch for Skyrim. I don't usually post beta patches in the news, but given Skyrim's popularity, and reports of very large FPS increases, some of you may wish to try this patch. It appears that Bethesda took notice of Arisu/Alexander Blade's TESVAL/SkyBoost mods and has incorporated significant compiler optimizations into the game which surpass those two mods. If you don't want to try the beta, the final version of the 1.4 patch should be out soon.
AMD Catalyst 8.921.2 RC11

AMD has released the Catalyst 8.921.2 RC11 graphics driver for the HD 7900 series on Windows 7. This driver provides support for Super Sample Anti-Aliasing and Adaptive Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center in DX10 and DX11 games, along with performance improvements and bug fixes.
GPU-Z 0.5.8

GPU-Z, a free graphics card information utility, has reached Version 0.5.8. Changes include a new test which puts sufficient load on the GPU to ensure that Bus information is accurate, and a display of ASIC quality for Nvidia GeForce 400/500 and AMD HD 7800/7900 GPUs. The utility also has improvements for the HD 7970, provides support for new chipsets, and contains bug fixes.

There are no significant changes; this is primarily a maintenance release to update all the hyperlinks throughout the book.
