When I first opened TweakGuides.com, I knew that it would evolve over time, but I was adamant that it would always remain free, would not be covered in intrusive or annoying advertising, and would not have the explicit or implicit commercial bias that plagues many other sites. My primary aim has always been to provide quality, accurate, useful information in clear easy-to-understand English which benefits the widest number of PC users. I made a quiet pact with myself that should the site ever come close to betraying these values, or prove to be unpopular, that I would simply close the site and move on to other things.
Fortunately readers appreciate these values, and TweakGuides has become increasingly more popular. I receive a great deal of moral support from readers all around the world. However sadly the reality is that a site which provides quality original material requires a great deal of my time and effort, and yet releasing this material for free on a relatively ad-free, non-biased website means that my income is quite low and seems to be declining. This is obviously unsustainable in the long run, and although I've considered various options such as increasing the number and intrusiveness of advertising on the site, or attempting to charge readers to access the guides, this would both betray what I set out to do, and ultimately wouldn't work anyway given the use of things like adblockers and peer-to-peer technology.
So instead I ask for your support to help keep the site the way it was intended. Please consider donating via one of the following means:

Unfortunately there are no other ways I can accept donations, as I can't accept direct bank or credit card transfers; it would be inappropriate for me to handle your credit card details directly for example, nor will I hand out my bank account details to others. And sending cash through the postal system is not wise.
